Libraries are constantly evolving in both the materials and services they offer to patrons, and it is crucial that library discovery software keeps up with these changes. Grove was pleased to partner with Aspen libraries to add several new formats to Aspen Discovery as well as support for Polaris Pickup Locations and displaying volume information for holds in Aspen’s app, LiDA.
New formats for Aspen Discovery include the addition of Yoto Players, Toniebox Audio Players, and WhaZoodles from PlayAway. Support for these formats was developed with input and expertise from the Aspen Cataloger’s Group.

The 25.01 release also includes support for Polaris Pickup Locations. This development allows Aspen users to select which area or location they would like to use when picking up their holds from a branch. These areas are typically things like drive-up windows or storage lockers in addition to the traditional library holds shelf. Patrons now have all the same functionality to remember or update these pickup locations that they have for branches with a single pickup spot.
Grove also did significant work for Aspen LiDA, moving it to its own repository at https://github.com/Aspen-Discovery/aspen-lida and adding support for volume-level holds.
Thank you to WYLD, MCFLS, and GMILCS who sponsored some of the 45+ features Grove developed for Aspen 25.01!
