Grove for Libraries announces contributions to the 26.04 Aspen Discovery release, with a focus on improving staff workflow efficiency, expanding reporting capabilities, and enhancing the patron discovery experience, particularly for series browsing and navigation.

User List Transfer Capability

The 26.04 release introduces new functionality that allows staff to transfer patron-created lists or list groups from one account to another. This enhancement helps libraries preserve curated content during staff transitions and supports more secure, effective collaboration without relying on shared accounts. List transfers can also be completed in masquerade mode, providing additional administrative flexibility.

Expanded Analytics and Reporting for Placards and Web Resources

Grove has also added comprehensive tracking for placard and web resource engagement. Libraries can now monitor both impressions and clicks directly within the Usage Dashboard, eliminating the need for third-party tools and enabling them to evaluate how these resources are used by patrons. Additional reporting also includes a new Collection Report that tracks the record count by source and format.

Enhanced Series Discovery for Patrons

Several updates improve how patrons find and engage with series content. These include automatic redirection to series searches when a patron uses the word “series” in their search, improved accuracy when searching series by title and author, and the ability to sort series by number of titles. Libraries can also enable an “Also in this Series” display, making it easier for patrons to explore related materials.

“These contributions reflect our ongoing commitment to making Aspen more intuitive for both staff and patrons,” said Grove’s co-founder, Jordan Fields. “Our goal is to provide practical, library-driven enhancements that make Aspen the one-stop shop they need it to be.” - Jordan Fields, Grove Co-founder

Additional Enhancements

In addition to the above, the 26.04 release brings over 70 contributions from Grove for Libraries, including:
  • Support for the Big Book format
  • Customizable list authors for staff lists
  • CloudSource OA Integration Updates
  • Improvements to LiDA Scan and Go
