Grove’s latest Aspen release, developed in close collaboration with library partners, brings thoughtful enhancements to both patron-facing features and behind-the-scenes tools. These updates make it easier for libraries to connect readers with the right materials and streamline their workflows.
Aspen’s You Might Also Like and While You Wait features, which suggest related titles based on what a patron is viewing or has on hold, can now be configured to recommend only titles in the same format. Libraries in consortia can also choose to display only items available from the patron’s home library system.
For Sierra libraries, Patron Self Registration now includes checks for duplicate accounts, address verification to confirm the patron is within the service area, and automatic assignment of a patron type based on the address entered.
In the LiDA mobile app, patrons can now search their Reading History and benefit from the app remembering the last barcode or username used for easier logins.
Administrators will also find new tools for testing and troubleshooting, including the ability to manually trigger cron jobs and confirm whether LiDA notifications were sent successfully.
With each release, Grove works closely with libraries to ensure Aspen continues to evolve in ways that support their goals. These improvements help staff serve their communities more effectively and make it easier for patrons to discover, access, and enjoy library resources.
