Grove for Libraries announces its contributions to the Aspen Discovery 26.06 release, delivering enhancements focused on authentication and security, events and community engagement, and discovery and search functionality. The release includes improvements that help libraries strengthen security, expand community engagement opportunities, and improve how patrons discover and interact with library resources.

Authentication and Security Enhancements

Aspen 26.06 introduces new options for authentication and account security. Libraries can now implement OAuth2 and OpenID Connect for API authentication and authorization, providing greater flexibility for integrations and third-party applications. The release also adds support for Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) authentication, allowing patrons to secure their accounts using popular authenticator apps.

Events and Community Engagement

This release expands Aspen's event capabilities by supporting LocalHop integration, giving libraries additional options for promoting and managing community events. These enhancements help libraries connect patrons with programs and services while expanding Aspen's ecosystem of event platform integrations.

Discovery and Search Improvements

Aspen 26.06 includes several enhancements designed to improve how patrons discover materials. New options allow libraries to display earliest publication dates within grouped works, configure the scope of the "More Like This" feature, and provide more consistent audiobook duration display. Additional improvements to reading history search, series indexing, and grouped work displays help patrons find relevant materials more effectively.

Additional Enhancements

Grove contributions in Aspen 26.06 also include improvements to Aspen LiDA, Koha, Polaris, Hoopla, and OverDrive integrations; eCommerce reporting; saved search notifications; hold workflows; indexing performance; and system administration, including the ability to schedule offline mode in advance. Altogether, Grove contributed nearly 60 enhancements to the Aspen 26.06 release.
