Grove announces the release of Aspen 25.11, delivering major enhancements designed to improve search accuracy with natural language processing, streamline list management, and support libraries with new tools for patrons and staff. The release is now live for all libraries hosted with Grove.

Search Interpreter: More Natural, More Relevant Search Results

Patrons increasingly expect search systems to understand the natural, conversational language they use every day. Aspen’s new Search Interpreter feature bridges this gap by automatically interpreting search queries and applying relevant facets behind the scenes. For example, a patron searching for “new romance books” will now be directed to recently published titles in the romance genre without needing to manually filter results.

The feature is highly configurable, allowing libraries to tailor it to their collections while adapting as formats and genres evolve.

List Hierarchy: A Smarter Way to Organize Hundreds of Lists

Library staff and patrons who rely heavily on lists, sometimes dozens or even hundreds of lists, will benefit from Aspen’s new List Hierarchy feature. This enhancement introduces a nested folder structure, allowing users to organize lists into customizable groups and subgroups. With this structure in place, managing and navigating even the largest collections of lists becomes dramatically more intuitive.

Additional Enhancements

Aspen 25.11 also includes:

  • Automatic translation updates powered by Google Translate

  • A new report to help libraries review roles and permissions

  • Enhancements to Aspen Events and calendar functionality

  • 100+ additional updates

Each new version of Aspen is shaped through ongoing partnerships with libraries, ensuring the platform grows in step with the challenges and opportunities libraries face. With the 25.11 release, Grove reinforces that collaboration by delivering highly requested features based on the needs of library patrons and staff.
