Grove is excited to announce the launch of a refreshed design for Aspen Discovery search results, Grouped Work (FRBR) records, and more in the 25.09 release.
Developed in partnership with Gail Borden Public Library, the new design highlights formats more clearly and visually aligns Aspen Discovery with its companion mobile app, LiDA. Search results are now presented in a more streamlined layout, consolidating information vertically while preserving the rich details and functionality libraries and patrons rely on. Libraries can choose to adopt the new design or continue using Aspen’s classic layout.

In addition to the new design, the 25.09 release also contains several long-awaited enhancements, including updates to how libraries and locations are listed in the Available Now and Location facts, and automatic checking of whether or not an account is locked before paying fines for Sierra libraries. Series records in Aspen also saw a number of improvements, and updates to the graphic novel and kit formats came as a result of input from the Aspen Catalogers Group.
With each release, Grove works closely with libraries to ensure Aspen continues to evolve in ways that support their goals. These improvements help staff serve their communities more effectively and make it easier for patrons to discover, access, and enjoy library resources.
